Wardrobe Rules

These are suggested tools to scrutinize your major fashion purchases. If the item fits all three categories, then it’s a green light to splurge.

  1. What you wear should be in sync with how you live. A diet of dresses and four inch heels may be okay in an office environment but not if you’re someone who works from home or spends the day running in 20 different directions. Do not buy something because your friend is wearing it.Buy clothes that compliment your lifestyle, buy what you love, what makes you feel like your best friend when you put them on.
  2. Stick to a color story. There is always room in one’s closet for a bright yellow dress or an orange blouse, but the majority of what you wear should be in a neutral color palette. This includes black and what. Find four complementary shades and work with them. This allows for optimal mixing and matching, which in turn keeps your wardrobe feeling new.
  3. Buy less but buy the best, whatever your best might be. Quality over quantity and fit.

Key Pieces
These are core pieces that no stylish women’s closet should ever be without-your sort of go-to reliables.
1. A Pencil skirt, it curves out your shape as a woman, always sexy.
2. Two pairs of pants. Black Tuxedo pants, it’s a perfect day to night, go with anything item, and a pair of jeans. Skinny stays trending…
3. Two dresses. Formal and a casual, with print or more like the trending shirt dress.
4. A wear with everything blazer. A jacket tailored with menswear attitude is new and on every designers mind.
5. Three to five tops. A couple of silk blouses, a few cotton button-downs and cashmere pull over.
